We are currently seeking a full-time HR Generalist (m/f/d) for our location in Cologne. As the HR Generalist, you will serve as a key liaison between our German and UK offices, working closely with your supervisor based in the UK.

Your responsibilities

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries in Central Europe, collaborating closely with the local management team to ensure that HR services meet the expectations of customers.
  • Providing guidance and playing a key role in work reviews and change processes.
  • Identifying development needs and coaching, upskilling, and training managers accordingly.
  • Assisting managers with talent acquisition processes, including updating job descriptions in preparation for job mapping.
  • Supporting engagement activities, including serving as the HR representative for the engagement group
  • Contributing to HR projects aimed at promoting functional development and change, including transformation and transition initiatives.
  • Pursuing continuous improvement and service enhancement opportunities.
  • Managing all employee relations activity in Continental Europe, including absence management, disciplinary proceedings, investigations, and organizational design and talent management. Overseeing the people information system, including maintenance, data protection, usage, and employee capability.
  • Managing payroll operations by ensuring that all changes are accurately captured and submitted for processing on time.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Managing the Recruiter Preferred Supplier List for Central Europe and effectively partnering with recruitment agencies to build positive relationships and attract the best candidates in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Serving as the internal recruitment expert, coaching office coordinators and line managers to deliver a positive candidate experience and position the company as an employer of choice. 
  • Ensuring a quality onboarding process is completed for all new hires, coaching managers and office coordinators on their role in the process, and gathering feedback about the candidate experience to provide to the Senior HR Business Partner and HR Directors.
  • Managing risk by conducting necessary checks during the onboarding process, including seeking references, completing right-to-work checks, issuing contracts, and providing accurate and up-to-date information to new hires in accordance with established standards. Continuously reviewing and improving recruitment, selection, and onboarding practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection policies and GDPR requirements throughout the recruitment, People HR, and onboarding processes.

Your Skills

  • This role requires an HR background and an in-depth understanding of current employment law and HR practices.
  • An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in human resources is a must.
  • The ideal candidate should possess excellent knowledge of employment relations legislation and regulations, with a focus on English, German, and Polish laws.
  • The candidate should have a solid understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and security standards.
  • The candidate should be committed to continuous professional development.
  • They should be commercially aware and capable of working within a matrix organization to meet customer needs through effective communication and collaboration across diverse cultures (across Europe).
  • The candidate should exhibit a confident and professional demeanor.
  • They should also be willing to train and develop themselves and others.
